MIDDLEBORO STATION CLOSED


Middleboro Station 3
The North Middleborough Fire Station built in 2002 is currently closed
due to inadequate staffing. The station is located at 58 Bedford Street (Rte 58). Middleborough has 3 fire stations protecting approx 72 square miles
with about 7 on duty personnel and over 2100 runs.

Middleboro FD will move into the new Middleboro North Fire Station in Sept 2002.
The new Station #3 is located on Bedford Street (Route 18) just north of the Route 44
rotary circle.  The new station has 3 non-drive-thru bays and basic living quarters.
The new station, upon opening in Sept, will be occupied by apparatus and 
personnel from the Middleboro Central Station which will be razed this fall to make room
for a new 12,000 sq ft Central Station.

The New Middleborough Headquarters Station opened
in Feb 2004 on the site of the old station.

MIDDLEBOROUGH FIRE DEPARTMENT
Fire Chief Lance Benjamino retired July 11, 2022. He served in the fire service for more than 34 years, starting in Randolph FD where he became Captain. In 2003 he became Fire Chief in Halifax and then in 2009 Chief in Middleborough. Congratulations and best wishes.

MIDDLEBOROUGH FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighter David Brier, age 50, suffered an apparent heart attack
after completing his shift on July 12. He passed away on July 22, 2013.
Hundreds turned out to pay respects at the Middleboro Central Station
on July 26. He was a 10 year veteran of the Middleboro FD.

Firefighter David Brier, age 50, a 10 year veteran of the Miiddleboro FD suffered an apparent
heart attack after completing his 24 hour shift on July 12. He passed away on July 22, 2013.
Hundreds attended a memorial service at the Central Fire Station on July 26.
Condolences to the Brier family and Middleboro Fire Department.

The Chief and Deputy at Middleborough FD retired in 2007. Serving as the acting chief and administrator has been the Police Chief Gary Russell.
